What does the warranty cover?
The Castrol Engine Warranty programme covers your engine from oil related mechanical failure.
Castrol Engine Warranty provides coverage for the below engine parts.
- Pistons and Rings
- Turbo Bearings
- Timing Chains
- Cylinder Lining or Bore
- Oil Pump
- Rods and Rod Bearings
- Balance Shafts & Push Rods
- Cam Shaft & Bearings
- Crankshaft & Bearings
- Valve Lifters
- Rocker Arms and Pivots
- Distributor Drive Gear (not applicable for diesel cars)
- Wrist Pins & Bushings
- Timing Gear or Sprockets
- Valve Stems & Guides
(Grinding adjustments excluded)
What is the warranty period?
If you use Castrol EDGE 0W-20, Castrol EDGE 0W-40, Castrol EDGE 5W-30, Castrol EDGE 5W-40, Castrol EDGE 10W-60, Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 , Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30, Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-40 and Castrol MAGNATEC SUV 5W-30 , this warranty lasts until the earlier of:
- the end of 6 months from the first day the vehicle is put in service, or
- until the date on which the vehicle is driven for 10,000km
If you use Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-30 and Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-40, this warranty lasts until the earlier of:
- the end of 3 months from the first day the vehicle is put in service, or
- until the date on which the vehicle is driven for 7,000km
This warranty only takes effect 30 days and 1,000 km from the engine oil change date, provided that the registration is in place. A claim is only valid if all criteria are met.
What is the warranty coverage?
Up to RM16,000 per claim for Castrol EDGE 0W-20, Castrol EDGE 0W-40, Castrol EDGE 5W-30, Castrol EDGE 5W-40, Castrol EDGE 10W-60, Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 , Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30, Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-40 and Castrol MAGNATEC SUV 5W-30, excluded tolling fees and towing charges.
Up to RM10,000 per claim for Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-30 and Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-40, excluded tolling fees and towing charges.
Maximum tolling fees and towing charges is limited to RM2,000. The associated costs of towing the vehicle to the nearest panel workshop will be reimbursable if it is determined to be a valid claim under this program.
Vehicles with a starting odometer mileage above 100,000 kilometers when registered for coverage, only have coverage of 50% of actual claim subject to maximum limits of RM8,000 for Castrol EDGE 0W-20, Castrol EDGE 0W-40, Castrol EDGE 5W-30, Castrol EDGE 5W-40, Castrol EDGE 10W-60, Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 , Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30, Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-40 and Castrol MAGNATEC SUV 5W-30 and maximum limit of RM5,000 for Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-30 and Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-40.
Does my vehicle qualify?
A gasoline or diesel vehicle might be eligible for this warranty if it is a privately owned passenger car, van, SUV or pick-up/light truck; and if
- The vehicle has been driven for less than 150,000 kilometers and the vehicle is 12 years old or below at the time of oil change
- Purchase and use Castrol EDGE or Castrol MAGNATEC
What do I have to do in order to join the programme?
Simply perform an oil change using Castrol EDGE or Castrol MAGNATEC at Certified Castrol Auto Service workshops and complete your registration in this website.
If I have not registered previously, can I make a claim and benefit from the programme?
No, you have to first register via Castrol Engine Warranty website in order to benefit from the programme.
How do I know if I have been successfully registered for Castrol Engine Warranty?
You will receive a confirmation page upon successful registration online. Otherwise, you will be advised to call Castrol Hotline at +6018 222 0811.
What do I need to do in order to make a claim?
In the event that your car breaks down, you need to call Castrol Engine Warranty Hotline +6018 222 0811 and provide details of your case. You need to provide the information you used for the registration and provide relevant documentation including oil change records, service receipts and a copy of the vehicle registration card.
